Lisa Hart, senior vice president of operations, is directly responsible for all staff and formal business operations for CAR, including accounting, human resources, contract management, and management of outside business, legal and accounting consultants. She is a member of the CAR Board of Directors and also serves as the corporate secretary/treasurer. Ms. Hart was instrumental in the creation of the Center for Automotive Research in 2003 as a nonprofit and since then, has been involved with strategic planning and implementation.
Ms. Hart also oversees CAR’s Conference Group, and serves as co-director of the CAR Management Briefing Seminars. She has had major responsibility for the success of CAR’s flagship event, which attracts close to 1,000 attendees and reached its 50th anniversary in 2015. She has served as a session chair on topics related to Talent attraction and retention. She has been with CAR and its predecessor organizations since 1984. At the University of Michigan, she was the Associate Director of the Office for the Study of Automotive Transportation,
Ms. Hart has a B.B.A. in Human Resources from Eastern Michigan University. She also studied Journalism at Central Michigan University. She is a member of Inforum and the Society of Human Resource Management.
